Fabric Engineer - Hard FM

Job Introduction

The role: 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabric Engineer to join our Hard FM (Facilities Management) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the building fabric and structures within our rail facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.


Key responsibilities:

Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on building fabric and structures.

Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues.

Carry out tasks such as carpentry, plastering, painting, and general building repairs.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including reports and documentation.

Collaborate with other maintenance teams and departments to ensure seamless operations.

Manage and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.

Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.

Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.


The ideal candidate:

Proven experience as a Fabric Engineer or similar role within Hard FM services.

Strong knowledge of building fabric maintenance, including carpentry, plastering, painting, and general building repairs.

Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.

Relevant certifications or qualifications in building maintenance or a related field.
