We have a vacancy for an exceptional safety focused Fire Warden to work on behalf of Carlisle Support Services for Camden Council in North West London to protect our client's premises, assets and personnel.  This is a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant and fast paced environment as a part of a professional and personable team. The 12 hour shifts are variable as required,

Purpose of the Role

Personnel to patrol occupied and unoccupied buildings in the role of a waking watch due to non-working Alarm Systems.

 

Duties may include but are not limited to:

 

Regularly patrol throughout the common areas of the building within their responsibility to detect a fire at the earliest opportunity by:

 

Hearing an alarm within a flat. 

Seeing smoke coming around flat front doors

Smelling smoke within the corridor.

Being informed of a fire by a resident.

 

If a fire warden becomes aware of a fire incident, they should immediately call the London Fire Brigade via the 999 system and then liaise with other Fire Wardens via radio. The Fire Warden will operate the nearest alarm break glass to warn and evacuate residents as required. 

 

They will then warn the rest of the block and assist with the evacuation of the residents including vulnerable residents who may need to utilise the refuse area.

 

The Fire Warden will meet and liaise with the London Fire Brigade.

 

Attributes:

 

Live within a 30 minute radius of Camden and have access to transport.

Frontline Door Supervision SIA licence (preferred but not essential).

First Aid awareness.

Previous experience within similar role.

Fully comprehensive 5 year work/education history.

Excellent communication & administration skills.

Reliable with excellent time management skills.

Conflict management and community safety aware.

Awareness of identifying and delivering excellent customer service.

Confident manner on telephone and radio.

IT literate (Microsoft Office Suite).

Fluent in English both written and verbal.

Willing to learn and develop.

Flexible attitude to working hours (days, nights, evenings and weekends).

Reliable and punctual.

Smart appearance.

Pro-active attitude.

Friendly, approachable and professional.
