 Our client:

Join the team behind one of Europe’s busiest and most unique transport systems.
We're hiring reliable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented individuals to support Eurotunnel — the high-speed vehicle shuttle service connecting the UK and France.

This is your opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, hands-on environment, where no two days are the same. You'll be part of a close-knit, professional team helping ensure the safety and smooth movement of freight vehicles and passengers.

The Role: Freight Safety & Securing Operative

In this dual-role position, you’ll be responsible for both operational safety and customer interaction. You'll work on-site at the Eurotunnel terminal, ensuring vehicles are secure and passengers are supported from arrival to departure, working shifts across a 24/7 period.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Vehicle Securing: Apply and remove wheel chocks to HGVs boarding the shuttle.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct pre- and post-journey checks on freight vehicles and trains.
  • Customer Support: Greet drivers and passengers, provide clear instructions, and assist with their journey.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in a safety-critical, high-traffic setting.
  • On-site Driving: Operate company vehicles within the terminal (as required).

About You

We’re looking for dependable team players who can stay calm under pressure and bring a positive, can-do attitude to work every day.

You’ll need:

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Confident verbal and written communication.
  • Physical fitness for manual tasks and on-your-feet work.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience in logistics, transport, or customer service (preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable).

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a 5-year checkable employment/education history.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Pass a UK DBS and (if applicable) an overseas background check.
  • Pass a safety-critical medical.

You’ll also need to provide original documents during the vetting process. This may include:
Passport, Driving Licence, Utility Bill (dated within 3 months), HMRC letter, Bank Statement, Payslip, Birth Certificate, or a valid Share Code.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a unique, high-profile European transport operation.
  • Work in a dynamic, people-first environment.
  • Gain valuable experience in a safety-critical logistics role.
  • Opportunities for ongoing training and development.
