The role
Carlisle Support Services is looking for a dedicated and experienced Industrial Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at our clients Train Depot. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning activities meet the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency. This role involves supervising a team, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating cleaning schedules to minimise disruption to depot operations.

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:
- Supervise and lead a team of industrial cleaners, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- Develop and maintain cleaning schedules to ensure all depot areas meet cleanliness standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor cleanliness, safety, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and company policies.
- Train new and existing staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment handling.
- Manage stock levels of cleaning materials and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, risk assessments, and staff performance.
Is this you
- At least 18 years old
- Previous experience in industrial or train depot cleaning, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of COSHH, health & safety regulations, and cleaning best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends if required.
- Understanding of depot safety procedures and railway industry experience is a plus.
Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. This could include the following: passport, driving licence, utility bill dated in the last 3 months, HMRC letter, original bank statement, original payslip, birth certificate or a valid share code.
