Le Shuttle (Eurotunnel) is a unique shuttle service between France and the UK. Carlisle Support Services are recruiting for a mechanical and electrical maintenance role within the property services team. This is a unique opportunity to work on a busy and varied site, across different sectors of the operation. You will be working in a vibrant and fast paced environment and be part of a highly skilled, professional, and personable team.

 

What we are looking for:

You are a passionate and dedicated individual, with an eye for detail and a desire to learn, you strive for excellence and take ownership of your work, contributing to the team’s success in delivering outstanding results.

Ideally you will have a recognised industry qualification. You must be able to work early, late and night shifts across a 24-hour operation, over a 7-day working week across various shift patterns, 365 days a year. Candidates must be flexible due to early and late finishes.

 

 Is this you:

The role will be for M&E Civils Property Services team. To assist the teams with ongoing preventative and corrective works across the site. You will also be expected to assist with minor tasks such as contractor escorting around site, painting work, vehicle checks.

A good standard in reading and writing English is required.  Be able to work independently, proactive, and willing to learn new skills. Attend internal training courses if required and possible external training courses if there is a need for this.

A pro-active and organised approach to work is required in this busy and dynamic operation.

There will be an expectation to drive company vehicles whilst on site.

Good timekeeping & attendance is important.

An ability to work collaboratively, you must be a team player, but also be able to work independently, able to follow detailed instructions and follow all site rules.

Good understanding of current H&S best practices.

To communicate in open and honest manner, taking responsibility and accountability for your actions.

Excellent level of both verbal and written English.

A Valid Passport – Travel to the French terminal will be occasionally required.

A Full UK Driving License is required.

This role is suitable for anyone with a background in mechanical, electrical engineering or property maintenance.

Work will be scheduled in predominantly during normal working hours 07:30 – 16:00 but staff must be able to work on an occasional shift pattern as and when needed.

What you’ll need to provide:

5-year checkable employment/education history. All candidates need to complete CTC (Counter Terrorism Check) vetting.

Proof of right to work in the UK documentation.

Complete UK criminal record check and/or overseas criminal record check (if applicable).

You will also be required to pass a safety critical medical.

 

Successful candidates will need to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. 

This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / Original birth certificate / a valid share code.
