The role

Carlisle Support Services is looking for Managing Director will be responsible for the developing and executing divisional strategies aligned to the business strategy to meet short- and long-term objectives.

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:

•           Measurement of customer KPI’s in place and targets meet- Quality, fulfilment and customer measures

•           Risks identified and COO made aware

•           Attend customer review meetings in line with customer size and value

•           Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio, driven by customer needs

•           Drive innovation

•           Take full ownership of P&L and where needed work with central functions to ensure clarity on financial position

•           Engage team into monthly performance reviews

•           Support forecasting and budget process

•           Work with Head of Operation to address performance issues on all contracts

•           Lead commercial negotiations where needed

•           Lead annual price uplifts and ensure updating on internal systems

•           Map all contract customer relationships and ensure coverage across team, COO and CEO

•           Monitor and review temp check process and Pulse CRM process

•           Attend customer review meetings, decide frequency based on contract classification 

•           Ensure regular 121 updates with key customer contacts- ‘keep in touch’

•           Ensure contract development process in place for all contracts dependent on life cycle

•           Ensure 121’s carried out at all levels across division

•           Lead NPS surveys

•           Develop engagement improvement plans with HR team

•           Retain overview of all HR cases within division and ensure timely completion

•           Work with Head of Recruitment and HOO to develop a robust recruitment process for all contracts

•           Ensure every contract has an up-to-date training matrix

•           Ensure all costed training is delivered within budget

•           Ensure Management and Support team have development plans in place in line with contract profiling grade

•           Work towards a dual service line delivery across contract base where deliverable

•           Understand customer objectives to enable sales growth through additional services

•           Ensure timely management of re-tenders

•           Work with BDD/Sales team to ensure focus on right customer profiles for new business

•           Ensure completion of audits relating to HSQE and subcontractors

•           Ensure best practice is followed across all regulatory requirements

•           Complete risk reviews on high compliance contracts with HSQE Manager

•           Create monthly divisional reports and attend SMT meetings

The ideal candidate

•           Demonstrable experience of Senior Leadership position

•           Demonstrable experience of Support Services operations

•           Security Service line operational expertise in a senior management position

•           Understanding of Events Operations

•           Understanding of Rail Security Operations

•           Experience of working closely alongside a business development team and can demonstrate new business wins and development of existing business 

•           Understands risk and compliance at corporate level and operational impacts

•           Exposure in dealing with Unions

•           Strong understand of multiple sectors- including NHS, Rail, Events, Education and Maritime 

•           Ability to understand internal and external influences and create strategic objectives at divisional and contract level to maximize opportunity or reduce risk

•           Can interpret a mix of data inputs to analyse performance and base decision making around this

•           Experience of leading and managing multiple sites, geographically diverse teams 

•           Excellent people management skills with evidence of engagement initiatives implemented

•           Strong financial and commercial awareness, understands a P&L 

•           Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be easy to contact and recognises the need to communicate at all levels and on a regular basis

•           MBA  or equivalent

 

Expected Travel across the North of England with overnight stays

 

Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. 

This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
