Are you a professional, energetic and enthusiastic individual interested in pursuing a career in the rail industry?

The successful candidate will be multi skilled to work at various gateline locations and within a small team specifically targeting fare evasion at various stations, favourable areas are Bradford, Bingley, Keighley and Skipton. Also  issuing Penalty Fares and other reporting documents, and will be required to complete other operational documentation supporting strategies aimed at reducing ticketless travel. As this is a customer facing role there may also be a requirement to provide support to customers who need help, particularly during times of disruption. The delivery of high standards of customer service is therefore a key skill for all of these roles and well as being able to deal with confrontation. There will be a requirement to attend Court when necessary.. The delivery of high standards of customer service is therefore a key skill for this role.

As an ambassador for both Carlisle Support Services and our prestigious client you must be able to demonstrate a 'can do' attitude, strong customer focus, excellent communication skills and a good standard of numeracy and literacy. You will be smart, well presented and happy to wear the uniform provided.

Key Personal Capabilities

  • Good communications skills (written and oral)
  • The role requires the ability to stand for long periods of time
  • The ability to exercise a high level of customer service skills when dealing with customers. (Excellent customer service and people engagement skills)
  • Must have good numeric skills
  • Ability to deal with potential confrontation
  • Must be able to adhere to the drugs and alcohol policy and standards

Job Description

  • Manage and control electronic ticket gates on the Station (Training provided)
  • Assist in the selling of tickets (Training provided)
  • Respond courteously and effectively to all customers ensuring they are dealt with in a polite, welcoming and professional manner
  • Dissemination of train travel information
  • To report and complete Travel Incident Reports to a high standard
  • To assist with Revenue Enforcement exercises.
  • Issuing Penalty fares (Training provided).
