Le Shuttle (Eurotunnel) is a unique shuttle service between France and the UK. Carlisle Support Services are recruiting exceptional, client-driven Customer Service Agents to deliver and support the searching and screening of HGV and other commercial vehicles travelling from the UK to continental Europe, using state of the art X-ray facilities. This is a unique opportunity to perform a safety critical and specialist role using the latest X-ray and Trace Explosive Detection technology within the transport and security industry. You will be working in a vibrant and fast paced environment and be part of a highly skilled, professional, and personable team.
What we are looking for:
You are a passionate and dedicated individual, with an eye for detail and a desire to learn, you strive for excellence and take ownership of your work, contributing to the team’s success in delivering outstanding results.
Ideally you will be a SIA Security Licence holder or wishing to gain an SIA qualification – we will provide training if required. You must be able to work early, late and night shifts across a 24-hour operation, over a 7-day working week across various shift patterns, 365 days a year. Candidates must be flexible due to early and late finishes.
Is this you:
Valid SIA licence holder (If not then full training will be provided).
At least 18 years old.
Ideally some experience within a traffic management role or working as a Traffic Marshall around Heavy Goods Vehicles, the role will involve the X-raying and manual searches of these vehicles.
Public facing customer service experience is essential, preferably within a challenging and rewarding environment.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Good understanding of Health and Safety law and able to work in a safe manner.
Ability to remain level-headed and follow sites procedures in the event of an emergency.
Friendly, approachable, enthusiastic, and always professional.
Flexibility to working across varied shift patterns and willing to cross train to cover other areas of operation across the busy site.
Competent with the use of a computer. The role involves viewing multiple computer screens so attention to detail is key.
A pro-active and organised approach to work is required in this busy and dynamic freight operation.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and politeness are essential as there is a high level of customer interaction.
We don’t expect you to have all the above skills, as full training will be provided to ensure you are able to perform the role effectively. There will be an end of training assessment, which [RH5] must be successfully completed prior to starting, with ongoing training on Le Shuttle’s state of the art equipment.
What you’ll need to provide:
5-year checkable employment/education history. All candidates need to complete CTC (Counter Terrorism Check) vetting.
Proof of right to work in the UK documentation.
Complete UK criminal record check and/or overseas criminal record check (if applicable).
You will also be required to pass a safety critical medical.
Successful candidates will need to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes.
This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / Original birth certificate / a valid share code.
