The role

Carlisle Support Services is looking for a proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Hard FM team, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of building services. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high standards of service delivery.

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:

•           Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems.

•           Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.

•           Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company procedures.

•           Support the delivery of minor works and projects as required.

•           Maintain accurate records of work completed using CAFM systems.

•           Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in the on-call rota.

•           Liaise with management to ensure excellent customer service.

•           Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate

•           NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Nice to have

•           18th Edition (for electrical bias) or F-Gas certification (for HVAC bias). Nice to have

•           Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled role within a Hard FM environment.

•           Strong knowledge of building services systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, etc.).

•           Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•           Good communication and interpersonal skills.

•           Full UK driving licence 

•           PTS

Desirable:

•           Experience working in train station, platform, trackside, or public sector environments.

•           Additional trade qualifications (e.g., plumbing, carpentry).

•           Familiarity with CAFM systems and digital reporting tools.

Covering the ARL Network

 

Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. 

This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
